Ok no. Im not even fucking sorry. Im watching this fucking movie cause i fucking feel like it. Im all for empowering women and i was a victim of physical abuse in a relationship and it sucks yeah but its just a god damn movie. Like holy shit it DIDNT HAPPEN. People worked hard on the book AND movie. Im more than 100% sure they didnt make this book/movie rubbing there hands like “muahah let’s encourage abuse towards women muahah” No. They made it and i bet it was pretty fucking hard like every other movie. Instead of telling people not to watch it how about you let them see for themselves and maybe theyll be like “hey you’re right the woman in this film was pretty abused and i wanna do something to help in a real life situation” Honestly tumblr stop with all this shit. Not everyone is after abusing women and not everything is about wanting to abuse women. ITS A GOD DAMN MOVIE. IT HAS SEX SCENES IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT WATCH IT.

That’s so true legacykitty. Even though the book isn’t true and none of it actually happened, in the book they’re both consenting adults. If she didn’t want to do anything Christian said and he forced her in to all of it then the book would be promoting abuse. I understand this is a group full of feminist, but this group shouldn’t be telling women what they should and shouldn’t watch. To be honest, I’m all for women’s rights but I’m still going to see the movie either way because I believe that if this was a real situation, it’s their life at the end of the day and no one could change that and to popular belief, some women actually like these kind of relationship and want something like this in their life.
